silence and solitude
“Come,” says my heart, “seek God’s face”; your face, LORD, do I seek! (Psalm 27)
Silence, solitude and meditation, they are the climate, the atmosphere that we need to live in and of the presence of God that inhabits us. We continue the example of Christ who often withdrew from crowds to pray alone.
Each Carmelite from solitude, pilgrims to the encounter with the Lord every morning, and we can sing with the psalmist: “O God, you are my God– for you I long!” (Psalm 62)
